QVS has been around for 13 years and is organized by a small group of committed people, so we rely on QVS players like you to help support us in making the league a success. We have some paid and volunteer opportunities and are looking for folks who are currently playing (or have previously played) in the league to put their names forward! Thanks for your interest!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Soccer Skills Clinic Coach (6 people)

Responsibilities: Assist with running one or both of the 2026 skills clinics for QVS players during the evenings of Monday, May 4 (new players), and Monday, May 11 (all players). Both skills clinics will be approx. 2-hours long, and volunteers are needed to help plan and run drills, set up equipment, and tear down afterwards.

Requirements: Must be familiar with basic soccer skills, rules, and positions. Individuals do not need to be a current player in the league, but must be familiar with the league and meet the needs of a diverse group of players.

Commitment: The time commitment for this role is 2-6 hours in total.

Compensation: This is a volunteer opportunity.

Social Committee (3 volunteers)

Responsibilities: Organize social events and activities for the league throughout the season, actively working to support access and inclusion for these events. QVS provides a budget for planning, booking, and coordinating events, and just asks that social committee members keep costs within this budget.

Requirements: Must be a current player in the league. Experience with event planning and/or social media is an asset.

Commitment: The time commitment for this role is approximately 2-4 hours per month.

Compensation: This is a volunteer opportunity, and the committee will be supported by a volunteer social committee liaison from among the league organizers.

Participant Experience Committee (3 volunteers)

Responsibilities: Review feedback from participants throughout the season, and make recommendations for improvements and actions in response to complaints/grievances from league participants. Contribute to development and analysis of participant experience surveys.

Requirements: Must be a current player in the league and have participated in QVS at least one other season. Experience with leading/managing teams and/or conflict resolution is an asset.

Commitment: The time commitment for this role is approximately 1-4 hours per month.

Compensation: This is a volunteer opportunity, and the committee will be supported by a participant experience committee liaison from among the league organizers.

PAID ROLES

Referees (unlimited)

Responsibilities: Time and impartially officiate 1-hour long games, as selected, and provide feedback to league organizers to increase safety and inclusion in the league.

Requirements: Individuals do not need to be a current player in the league, but can be a player on a team or on the waitlist or sub list. Must be familiar with the rules of soccer and capable of managing the dynamics of the game.

Commitment: The time commitment for this role is approximately 1-4 hours per week.

Compensation:  Referees will be paid $20/game, and paid after each game that they referee.
